Аннотация
Праймериз 2016 г. в США были во многом необычными. Два претендента - Берни Сандерс со стороны демократов и Дональд Трамп со стороны республиканцев - выступали против истеблишмента. Хотя Берни Сандерс провёл выдающуюся кампанию и выиграл праймериз в 20 штатах, у него не было реальных шансов против Хиллари Клинтон, как это было ясно с самого начала. Напротив Дональд Трамп, несмотря на многочисленную оппозицию в рядах Республиканской партии, убедительно выиграл первичные выборы, используя разочарование и гнев значительной части республиканского электората. Но накануне выборов он, как показывают опросы общественного мнения, отстаёт от Хиллари Клинтон. В ходе праймериз он систематически отчуждал большие демографические группы - женщин, испаноязычных, молодёжь, которые необходимы Республиканской партии для завоевания Белого дома. Тем не менее, ко времени начала республиканского съезда 18 июля Трамп сумел значительно сократить своё отставание от Клинтон. Это обещает интенсивную и упорную борьбу двух кандидатов вплоть до дня выборов - 8 ноября 2016 года.
