Abstract
The article analyzes the U.S. role in recent developments in the Arab World. Tragic events of 9/11, «war on terror», and the subsequent American invasion into Afghanistan and then into Iraq marked a new stage in the history of the Middle East, brought radical changes of power balance in the region.
