Abstract
The article dwells upon the subject of «reset» in U.S.-Russia relations, the initially vague characteristics which arise from the nature of the term itself. Attention is also paid to motivation for each side and differences in vision of the aim of «reset», and divergences in estimations of key world events. All these give some basic parameters for speculations about near prospects in U.S. - Russia relations.
