Abstract
The article covers the history and modern stage of multilateral «Global Zero» initiative aimed at universal nuclear disarmament. It focuses on the role of the United States in providing formal support and practical implementation of the initiative's goals. The prospects for global nuclear disarmament are examined within the broader context of regional conflicts and international security challenges.
