Аннотация
Статья посвящена изменениям в социальной структуре и политике американских администраций в отношении среднего класса в 1970-е годы и первое десятилетие XXI века. Автор анализирует проблемы современного положения американского среднего класса - изменения на рынке труда, стагнация доходов и рост расходов на медицину и жильё, ухудшение условий получения и рост стоимости высшего образования, экономические последствия изменений в положении женщины и кризиса традиционной семьи.
