Abstract
The article analyses the latest forecasts of Chinese social and economic development, published by the U.S. experts. Special attention is paid to anticipated changes in the U.S. - China economic and technological competition, as well as to the possible American approaches to policy towards China and to the consequences of slower Chinese growth for the Asia-Pacific region and world economies.
