Abstract
Analyzing the book "The rise and fall of American growth: the U.S. standard of living since the Civil War" by R. Gordon and other publications in the article the nature of the American model of economic growth, its sources and factors are revealed; the achievements of economic growth in the US, their reflection in improving the quality of living standards of the population are comprehensively analyzed. The article systemizes the challenges and constraints faced by the US model of economic growth at the beginning of the 21st century and forecasts the future of economic growth in the United States.
