Abstract
After an enthusiastic start in February 2009, when the American President paid his first foreign visit to Canada Canadian-American relations seem to have plateaued. Their nadir was reached in March 2010 when U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton publicly criticized Canada for organizing an Arctic conference that didn't include all countries of the region and contradicted the Conservative government's policy on maternal health in the Third World.
